Creeks, Rivers, and what about Trees?
A country drive looking at degraded Sub-Watersheds and Stripped Riparian Zones.

To see where the riparian zone has been stripped off the land, and where soil erosion is actively happening is not hard.  Just take a short drive down almost any country road here in Southern Ontario

It is a little more difficult to see examples of healthy riparian zones here.  You would have to pick your spots with some knowledge of the area.

The Niagara Escarpment is one area that still does have a relatively high percentage of forest cover as compared to the rest of Southern Ontario, and along with forest cover, you can generally find cleaner water.

We will take a virtual drive from the flat high quality farm land south of Milton, west and up the slope of the Niagara Escarpment.  Our trip starts at Hwy 25 just a few Km south of Milton Ontario.   We will travel west on Britannia Rd for less than a dozen kilometers and end at Cedars Springs Rd just south of Kilbride.
